Description
Historically, Neptune as the cosmological ruler of the Era of Pisces may be seen as an agency of the emergence, development and transcendence of the individual soul within the medieval metaphysical model. Such was the view endorsed by the theodicy and expressed by the religions and philosophies of both Christianity and Islam. This was followed by the death of the medieval image of godhead in Nietzsche in the 19th century, which opened up a new space for the necessity of the birth of the personal spirit. We shall look at the specific tasks of Neptune’s archetypal trajectory this entails for the individuation process. We need to be initiated into the psychic cogito (psychic apprehending, integrating emotional dynamics, and psychic creating of one’s own, inner images) first, then unravel its historical material and, finally, by processing and letting go of it – by both learning and forgiving. This prepares the grounds for the birth of the personal spirit as the heart and motor of one’s individuation process.
